"Import’s fine, export takes its sweet time"
Import works without much drama, which is nice. Export, on the other hand, occasionally just hangs there like it’s contemplating the meaning of life. Super fun when you’re trying to get things done...

"Works with most databases, but takes some patience"
I use dbeaver to connect to a bunch of different databases, it’s handy for that. You can get most things working without too much trouble, but some of the drivers and settings can be confusing at times. I wouldn’t say it’s always smooth, but once you figure it out, it usually does the job.

"Mostly painless driver setup, somehow still a little annoying"
I was setting up a PostgreSQL driver and expected it to turn into the usual headache, but DBeaver just found what it needed and downloaded it on its own. Took maybe a minute, so I can’t really complain. I did have to restart the connection once, which was mildly annoying, but also not a big deal at all. It felt both surprisingly smooth and slightly clunky, if that makes sense. Still, super handy when you just want to get into the database and not mess around with drivers.

I’ve been using DBeaver with SSH tunnels for my work databases, and overall it’s been dependable. The security options feel solid and are easy enough once you get the hang of them. Setting up certificates did take me a couple tries, but it wasn’t too bad in the end. It’s a good tool overall, even if a few things could be a little more straightforward.

In my experience, editing data has been smooth overall. It works mostly fine, and I haven’t run into anything too frustrating so far.

"Cross-platform support feels a bit uneven"
It works well on Windows for the most part, but I’m assuming that’s where most of the attention goes because the Mac and Linux versions feel a lot buggier. It’s like the same little issues keep showing up outside of Windows, and the experience just doesn’t feel as consistent across platforms...

"Pretty good for quick ER diagrams"
I’ve been using it for ER diagrams, and overall it works well. It can feel a little clunky at times, though I’m not sure if that’s just me getting used to the workflow. For quick diagrams, it definitely gets the job done.

"Queries are way too slow 😩"
Queries have been running painfully slow for me, even basic SELECTs take forever compared to other tools I use. I thought my database was the problem at first, but the same queries run just fine elsewhere. It ends up making everyday work frustrating. Not ideal if you need quick results 😕

Overall, I think this is a good tool and it’s definitely usable. The only thing I’ve noticed is that my connections drop sometimes, which can be a little frustrating. Maybe it’s just on my end, but I’m curious if others have run into the same thing.

"Easy install, but the settings took a bit"
Getting it installed was straightforward, so no real complaints there. The configuration part was a little confusing, though, and I had to spend some time figuring out what each setting actually did. If you’re used to tweaking this kind of setup, it’s probably fine, but for a quick plug-and-play experience, it could be clearer.

"Support is WAY too slow"
I had a simple issue and expected a quick answer, but I ended up waiting DAYS. When support finally replied, the message was super short and didn’t really help me much. Frustrating experience overall

"Affordable and hassle-free"
I really appreciate that there’s a free version to try, and the paid license doesn’t feel overpriced. Setup was straightforward, and I haven’t run into any annoying license problems so far. Overall, I’d say it’s a solid choice if you want something simple that doesn’t cost a fortune

"Simple tasks felt harder than they should"
I gave DBeaver a try, i wanted to like it. It seems powerful and maybe great if you already know your way around it, but for simple stuff it felt weirdly frustrating. The setup took longer than I expected, the menus felt cluttered, and I kept getting lost trying to find basic things. Maybe it’s amazing once you get used to it, but also, why does it feel like a puzzle just to do normal database tasks? Not the easiest experience for me.

"Clear enough for everyday use"
I found the menus easy to figure out for daily use. At first I thought a few parts looked a little confusing, but actually, after using it for a bit, most of it feels clear and straightforward.

"A little overwhelming at first, but it grew on me"
My first impression of dbeaver was that it felt a bit crowded and intimidating. There are tons of buttons, menus, and settings, and I definitely had to look a few things up just to get my database connections set up properly. But once I spent some time with it, it started to click. Now I find it really useful and solid overall. I wouldn’t call it beginner-friendly right away, but if you stick with it, it’s worth it

"Updates can be a bit of a mixed bag"
I’ve noticed that updates are kind of hit or miss. Sometimes everything feels fine, and other times a small thing suddenly stops working or feels off. It’s not usually a huge deal, but it does make me realize how much those little details matter when you’re using something regularly.

"DBeaver seems nice enough until I open a..."
DBeaver seems nice enough until I open a few tabs and my laptop starts preparing for takeoff. The fans kick in, everything slows down, and suddenly checking a database feels like I’m rendering a movie or mining crypto, which is obviously exactly what I had in mind.

Maybe it behaves perfectly on a beefier machine, but on mine it’s a struggle. I just wanted to run some queries, not enter a dramatic battle with lag every time I need to look at a table.

"The SQL editor is decent, even if it has quirks"
The SQL editor works fine for what I need, so I don’t think it’s fair to act like it’s unusable. It can feel a little clunky at times, especially when the autocomplete starts suggesting weird stuff, but overall it still gets the job done.

I use DBeaver almost every day for database work, and overall it’s been solid for me. It handles long sessions without much trouble, and I don’t really run into crashes often, which is sorta what I care about most.

It can get a little slow sometimes, especially when opening bigger tables or right after updates, but it’s never been a huge deal. I’m happy with it overall, even if it’s not totally perfect
